The main concept to this approach of seeing and moving through the world, is that the key in working through the difficulty, lies within the difficulty itself. So rather than trying to avoid or push the problem away, we gently turn towards it to see what it is it is trying to express.
This is a very radical idea for western thinking, and indeed opposite to the mainstream allopathic approach where treatment is based on stopping the problem or producing the opposite effect of the difficulty. However, when anxiety or depressive like symptoms are explored for example, it can be seen that these symptoms are there for a reason and with a conscious ‘taking up’ of this energy, deep and nourishing change can happen. There is a higher intelligence far more complex than our human brain can begin to contemplate, so instead of trying to ‘out smart’ the process, work with it instead.
This way of viewing and opening up to challenges and life in general sees that life is in constant communication with us. Allowing the space to listen and unfold what it is that is here for you, be it during your own inner work or with a trusted other, can be an empowering tool throughout the ups and downs of life. There is no one best way to do things, hence why working with what is present in the moment for each person, offers the most accurate and tailored approach available.
By looking at the difficulties closer, be it body symptoms, dreams, relationship conflicts, reoccurring themes, or events around you, the medicine needed to deal with it is found within the problem itself. By working with ourselves and others with this radically compassionate, curious, and multidimensional view, opens up the many possibilities in dealing with the inevitable ups and downs of life. Feeling equipped and resourced enough to be able to sit with, and work through life’s challenges, really is the epitome of true freedom.

Ad hoc sessions booked in when best suits you may work well, alternatively a block of sessions to work through something in particular, or even sessions booked in at regular intervals (e.g. weekly, fortnightly, monthly) could help in ensuring that the time and space is created to work together.
